One of our parents wants to know how to develop a more powerful swing in their 9 year old softball player?
1- Produce more force
2- Produce more force quicker (explosive strength)
3- At this age just become the best all around athlete possible and don’t worry about KPI’s (key performance indicators) because kids develop at different rates and their can be huge gaps in performance.
4- Stick to GPP (General Physical Preparedness) and don’t try to make everything you do “softball specific” that will hinder their progress. Remember you have to build the bottom of the pyramid really big if you want it to be tall!
5-Anything done off the field is technically general training…
