For Parents With Athletes New(er) to Training: GPP B4 Barbells!

If you have an athlete that is inexperienced or new to training and is required to “workout” in the high school weight room with their team this is a good video for you…

This morning while training some freshman football players that are pretty much brand new to training we talked about what they do at their HS weight rooms and the glaring weaknesses they had that are not being addressed in any manner with their teams.

Most kids that have never trained before don’t need to even touch a barbell.

Typically their posture stinks and getting in a good safe position to lift a barbell is not in their wheel house at the current time.

Its not a knock on them it’s just how it is. They need to strengthen and add mass to the postural muscles… upper back, low back, lats, abs, etc.. and you can’t do this with heavy compound lifts because you can’t get enough volume with the bar. They need GPP and basically bodybuilder work while learning fundamentals.

A training program HAS to be able to give an athlete what they NEED!
