We do very little olympic lifting with our high school athletes.
They are a cool exercise but they are totally misused by uneducated sports coaches (usually football coaches that just do what they did in 1980)….
I see kids injured all the time from doing cleans and snatches.
They are too slow to build explosive strength. Olympic lifting is a strength speed sport. Remember bar speed is important because of the force velocity curve.. I did a video last year on that here: https://youtu.be/kO-dX02w5Ys
The kids rarely triple extend. The shoulders and wrists usually are mobile enough to execute it safely and it takes months to teach.
